The Right to Build Task Force held its first Board meeting this month, with senior Board Membership from RICS, RTPI, NHF and GLA in attendance, amongst others. Richard Bacon MP, who has agreed to be the Right to Build Ambassador, also attended the meeting.

The Task Force Board agreed it would welcome applications for support at a discounted level (50% discount for up to one week) from local authorities, LEPs, health trusts, housing associations, government agencies and community groups. The aim is to help at least 80 organisations deliver large, affordable custom and self build projects over the next three years.

The Board agreed that the Task Force will also offer its expert services (although not on a discounted basis) to landowners and developers to deliver custom and self build schemes at market value, recycling any income it makes from this into its core purpose.
