I chaired the latest meeting of the custom build developer/enabler group this week. The Homes and Communities Agency’s (HCA’s) Kirk Howe met the group to explore feedback on previous experiences of lending from the HCA and how the £1bn of loan funding announced by the Chancellor (which subsumes and adds to the Builders Finance Fund and Custom Build Serviced Plots Loan Fund) could be best shaped to help deliver more custom build housing.

The group also discussed emerging submissions to Government consultations on the CIL exemption and some key messages for a consultation workshop with the Department for Communities and Local Government on the emerging regulations/guidance or the Right to Build.
