NaCSBA’s outgoing Collective Custom Build Representative Cany Ash and I recently met with members of the RIBA Housing Group to start to explore the important role that architects can play in raising awareness and delivery of custom and self build housing. The intention is to identify a programme of policy and practical work we can take forward together with further discussions planned.

Additionally, I also recently convened a working group of custom build developers with KPMG to explore how a simplified tax structure might work for custom build with a view to putting forward proposals to Government later in 2015. A further meeting is taking place on the 20th July to discuss KPMG’s emerging ideas.
